Healing Trauma

Heal from life’s overwhelming moments… and find hope.

2190025439Trauma changes the way you think.

It puts limiting beliefs in your head. Things like:

You’re broken.

Or you’re responsible for what happened.

Or you’ll never truly heal.

These beliefs can become heavy chains, binding you to the past.

It’s also a physical burden.

The weight you carry isn’t just a story; it’s also a physical burden.

It’s the tightness in your chest, restless nights, and bursts of anxiety that come out of nowhere.

It’s the mental replay of painful moments, emotional numbness, and overwhelming waves of sadness that leave you feeling adrift.

You’ve likely become a master at survival, building walls to protect yourself…

But those walls can also isolate you, keeping you trapped in a cycle of fear and pain.

Trauma is highly personal.

Trauma is complex, so I like this definition that keeps it simple: Trauma is anything that overwhelms your capacity for coping.

The degree of overwhelm varies because we all have different tolerances for coping. It’s based on our unique biology, experience, and level of resilience that inform how we respond to difficult situations.

Your level of trauma can’t be compared to anyone else’s. No one’s is “bigger” or more valid than another’s.

Trauma is a fact of life. It does not, however, have to be a life sentence.

– Peter A. Levine

You’ve been carrying this weight alone.

But now, you don’t have to.

My practice is a safe space where you can gently unpack your burdens and explore the impact of your experiences without judgment or pressure.

Safety and stabilization…

Security is essential for healing from trauma. If you don’t feel safe, nothing else matters.

Processing traumatic memories…

Gradually and safely, we’ll reprocess traumatic memories to reduce their emotional intensity and integrate them into a healthier life narrative.

Addressing trauma symptoms…

We’ll work on eliminating and managing PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other related conditions, as well as physical symptoms like tension and pain. This can lead to improved sleep, concentration, and overall well-being.

Building resilience and coping skills…

I’ll show you healthy ways to manage stress and triggers, focusing on enhancing your self-esteem and self-compassion.

Reconnecting with life…

Re-establish a sense of purpose and meaning by engaging in activities that bring joy and fulfillment and building a network of support.

We’ll use several approaches to get you results.

Brainspotting

Uses bilateral stimulation (e.g., eye movements) to process traumatic memories and reduce the emotional intensity of traumatic memories.

Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

Challenges negative thoughts and beliefs to address trauma-related symptoms.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Helps you understand the different parts of yourself and how they relate to the trauma.

Somatic- and Polyvagal-informed Therapy

Focuses on releasing trauma held in the body to regulate the nervous system and reduce physical symptoms.

This is the path to freedom.
