About Therapy

1674151522We’re often at odds with the world.

We feel the pressure to live up to its expectations and “get in line.”

We worry about what other people think of us… and whether we measure up.

We get paralyzed by the “what-ifs.”

We overestimate the size of our problems… and underestimate our ability to handle them.

We dwell on the “bad” and look past the “good” things that are happening in our lives.

Overwhelmed and spinning your wheels…

With so many demands for our time, energy, and attention, it’s easy to get down on ourselves.

To cope with the pain and the chaos, we seek distractions in food, money, or sex, indulging ourselves for momentary relief and then lapsing into regret, shame, anxiety, and sadness.

It’s the same issues, over and over again.

You’re struggling… and frustrated because you’re getting NOWHERE.

0285Step into my office…

When you arrive, you’ll be enveloped in a warm, compassionate space where you can leave others’ expectations at the door.

Here, you’re accepted for who you are and what you’re going through – no judgment.

Over a cup of coffee or sparkling water, I’ll validate your perspectives while challenging you to move in a different direction.

All the while, I’ll give you the support and tools you need to become stronger, wiser, and more capable of handling whatever life throws your way.

Let me show you a way forward.

I listen and ask questions to get to the root of what is not working in your life.

We’ll put an end to the habits and beliefs that are keeping you from living fully.

We’ll explore and implement strategies and methods to make meaningful change.

You’ll learn skills to help you manage your emotions and build resiliency for life’s challenges.

Informed by psychoeducation (a fancy word for information that helps you understand and cope with what’s going on), we’ll create a plan that works for you as a whole person: mind, body, and spirit.

Here’s what better living looks like…

  • Make yourself a priority (that means making self-care a priority).
  • Set boundaries so you can operate from your purpose and power.
  • Make changes and do the work needed to sustain them for a lifetime.
  • Explore your inner narrative and rewrite your story from a position of understanding, purpose, and courage.
  • Discover new ways of connecting and strengthening your relationships.

This is about your FREEDOM!

It’s what happens when you learn and master the right skills.

Freedom to choose what you want based on clearer thinking…

Freedom to pursue the things that bring you joy…

Freedom to be the REAL you: capable, brave, and kind to yourself…

Your journey to a better life starts now. Call today for your free consultation: (707) 266-6309.

About Kelli O’Rourke Wall, LMFT

0061I started my mental health journey as a patient.

I had just completed my last failed round of in vitro fertilization (IVF). And it broke me.

I was physically and emotionally exhausted and riddled with anxiety.

Everything caused me distress. I had trouble leaving the house and couldn’t get into a car without panicking and breaking down in tears.

I finally reached out for support.

But it was years after suffering on my own. With the help of a skilled therapist and a Christian recovery community, I made tremendous headway in regaining control of my life.

Sharing with others in a safe environment helped me shed the shame I carried for my infertility and resulting emotional breakdown.

In therapy, I learned how my brain, body, and emotions worked together to keep me in a state of high alert. I learned how to calm and support my nervous system to get out of the fight-or-flight state I lived in 24/7. I used specific exercises to identify my anxious thoughts and fears and learned to reframe them before they escalated. That gave me amazing relief. The incredible power of therapy transformed my life and inspired me to become a therapist.

When I’m not in the office…

I’m a wife, mom, dog mom, and fellow imperfect human on a journey toward health, healing, and wholeness.

You’ll find me at church on Sundays… and the coffee shop or bookstore on the other days of the week. I am a lifelong learner with an ambitious “to-be-read” stack… and an “already read” stack that’s not too shabby.

Some of my favorite books are Midnight Library by Matt Haig, The Dinner List by Rebecca Serle, and The Red Tent by Anita Diamant. My favorite coffee order is a half-caff latte or cappuccino.
